This shopping mall in the east of Bangkok is quite large. Add to that the newer and connected promenade and it's even bigger.

Fashion Island has undergone a huge metamorphosis in the last 20 years or so. Although it has been around for quite some time now, it now looks brand new. The mall's four floors offer a wide variety of stores, from large supermarkets (Big C, Tops), HomePro, Starbucks to fashion and electronics. The top floor has most of the electronic equipment as well as a food court. There are also a few other restaurants to be found here. The lower floors have a lot of fashion stores. In the mall you can also find a big cinema.

Crossing the parking lane via a short bridge, you can now also access the Promenade. This is a new mall that has only been around since last year. The Promenade has a lot of nice restaurants and some specialty stores. The supermarket on the Promenade offers a range of items you might not find in a regular supermarket in Thailand (more international products). At the top of the promenade you can find another cinema.

[Bangkok] The secret world of Karmakamet Diner isn’t that secret anymore. The restaurant set in a traditional garden looks like a mysterious sanctuary, attracting many people to seek it out.

Karmakamet started out as an essential oil shop in Jatujak JJ Market back in 2001, and has since expanded to include a restaurant concept. One thing to note: while various websites claim the opening time is 9am, the restaurant doesn’t start operating until 10am.

It’s actually just a short walk from BTS Phrom Phong, where you need to walk past Hotel Emporium Suites. My friend missed the way and had to walk through a park, which took quite a while.
