The language school I went to study English in the Philippines this time is called EG Academy. The Clark area where this school is located is 80 kilometers northwest of Manila and was once the site of a US Air Force base. The base was put into use in 1903 until a volcanic eruption in 1991 forced the United States to evacuate. After the United States evacuated, the base developed into an international airport and free port area.
Yes, Clark has an international airport, but as far as I know, only Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Singapore and Hong Kong have flights to Clark Airport. I heard that there used to be super cheap flights from Guangzhou to Clark, only 200 or 300 RMB, but this has long become history. Therefore, it is better for us to choose to fly to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and then go to Clark to study at the language school in Clark. There are several ways to get to the airport from Manila:
1. The pick-up service of the language school, which is the way I least recommend. It sounds great that the school has a pick-up service, but this service is not free. The EG language school I went to charged 5,000 pesos for this service, which is about 650 RMB! You will know how outrageous this price is when you read on.
2. Taxi, I don't recommend this method either. Airport taxis usually quote random prices. If your English is too poor, it's difficult to bargain with the driver. Moreover, even if you can bargain, the price I negotiated is at least 4,000 pesos. So instead of taking a taxi, it's better to choose the school's airport pick-up service, which is safer and more convenient.
3. Airport bus, this is my choice and the first choice. First of all, the price is only 430 pesos. Compared with the prices of taxis and school pick-ups, don't you feel that it's a bargain? By the way, it seems that the prices for round Trips, students or carrying different luggage are different, but they are basically the same, all very cheap. The bus from Manila Airport to Clark pick-up point is at Platform 14 of T3. You will see "BAY 14" on the big cement pillar in front of the right side of the airport exit. It is easy to find. It operates 24 hours a day and departs on the hour. There are people selling tickets after getting on the bus, and there is no need to book in advance. Note that the bus stops at SM after arriving in Clark and stops at Clark Airport at the end. We usually get off at SM, but don't worry about missing the stop, the crew will confirm and remind you. It takes about 2 hours from Manila Airport to SM. Currently, you can only get on the bus from Manila Airport to Clark at T3, but the bus from Clark Airport to Manila Airport will stop at Terminals 3, 2, and 1 respectively. Also be careful not to get off at the wrong station. The different terminals of Manila Airport are a little different from what we imagined, and the ferry transportation is a little troublesome.
However, even if you are going to the Philippines for the first time, it is no problem. A reliable domestic agent will guide you throughout the Journey, so don't worry.
